Czyzewski went on, "In my case, computers were used in a process called "intensity modulated radiation" to precisely zap the tumor cells with radiation while sparing the nearby tissues. Which means cancerous regions of my prostate were hit with higher doses while normal tissue was subjected to lower levels of radiation." |
Doctors may refer to this prostate radiation procedure as IMRT. And it delivers a more precise prostate cancer radiation treatment. Which is perhaps why it is favored by some looking into prostate cancer therapy. Since with the greater precision comes a higher cancer cure rate.
