Who's At Risk For Possible Prostate Biopsy Complications?

Prostate biopsy side effects were the first thing Tony Voit thought about when his urologist recommended that he have a biopsy done. There was no denying his PSA had shot up there. But was this really necessary?

"I'm an only child," revealed Tony. "And I have no close male cousins on either side of my family. My dad never had a biopsy done either. "Looking back at it," Voit now freely admitted, "I guess I just basically needed to be reassured by someone who knew all about the procedure and what could happen. Know what I mean?"

"The doctor warned about possible cramping after the prostate biopsy procedure. He also told me that there were chances of some mild bleeding or spotting. Other than that he assured me that there were no more serious prostate biopsy side effects so I felt a whole lot better."

"After having the biopsy done, I was relieved that I did not have any side effects at all. I was able to drive myself home and went back to work the very next day. The only prostate biopsy side effects I was noted was the anxiety of waiting for the results. Luckily they showed I was in the clear for now. But on the advice of my doctor I'm going to get regular PSA and DRE screenings done annually from now on," he added.
