Chronic Prostatitis Symptoms- What You Should Know

Do You Know the Common Symptoms of Prostatitis?

Mary Ellis was worried.

Her husband Jim was having trouble with his prostate but was stubbornly refusing to see his physician. From what he described, she felt he might be developing prostatitis and she needed to find out what exactly were chronic prostatitis symptoms.

Jim 52, had been experiencing an unusual ache in his prostate region for two weeks now. Was this one of the symptoms of chronic prostatitis? Let's find out.

Prostatitis occurs when the prostate gland becomes inflamed due to some kind of infection. Symptoms of prostatitis includes pain like Jim was having plus the fever. Others would include frequent, painful, and urgent urination.

Mary finally persuaded Jim to go see a doctor who was able to tell them more about prostatitis symptoms. The doc agreed that Jim was displaying some of the symptoms, side effects of chronic prostatitis.

Fever can be one of the prostatitis symptoms the doctor agreed.

"The is also no direct pain but more of an ache. The doctor said Jim's description was typical of chronic prostatitis symptoms," explained Mary. "It's a good thing Jim was diagnosed in time. He's now on a course of antibiotics as prescribed by the doctor. We were told it might take a month or more of antibiotics for the treatment to be successfully control symptoms and recurrence."

Such an infection is bacterial according to the doctor. "Jim is responding well to the treatment," added Mary. "It had nothing to do with his diet so I'm a bit relieved . Although I think he needs to eat better for a while at least," she said giving him a sideways glance.

In any case Mary is happy that Jim's less than chronic prostatitis symptoms were diagnosed in time. "It could have been a lot more serious if left untreated for even just a few more weeks," she said. "But luckily he got to a doctor in time. Which is what I suggest any man do who exhibits a low grade fever, urgent need to use the bathroom and unexplained pain in the groin area or lower back."

That way you can get the proper diagnosis and discuss the various prostatitis treatment options with your physician too.
