For Christian Baughman, his prostrate biopsy procedure was a nightmare. The 47 year old suffered bleeding following prostrate biopsy procedure.

"I was seriously alarmed. Was bleeding following prostrate biopsy a bad sign? Was there some health risk involved? I hated the idea of having to wait for my prostrate biopsy results," remembered Baughman.

"I had never heard of bleeding after prostrate biopsy and did not know where to turn. My doctor did not warn me about the possibility of such a thing happening so I didn't know."

Baughman was worried that he might need special prostrate biopsy aftercare. "I called up the hospital but the doctor I spoke to seemed frankly unconcerned. Which surprised me just a bit. He said a little bleeding following prostate biopsy was perfectly normal."

"But to me this was not a little bleeding. It was quite bad in my opinion."

Ultimately Baughman went to the emergency room where the on duty emergeney room physician took care of the problem. "It was much better after that," Christian reported.

"They told me there may be some spotting but it would go away in a day or two," said a relieved Baughman. "After that, my prostrate biopsy recovery was much easier. Both physically and mentally!"

Bleeding following prostrate biopsy can be a bad sign. Get yourself checked at once if you feel there is something wrong. Christian added, "Going back to the hospital eased y mind a bit. But I can't believe that I was not warned by the doctor that such bleeding could occur. I am not sure whether I'll go back to him again the next time I have screening done."
